大阪の靱公園近くの閑静な街角にある、老舗クリーニング店が運営するランドリーとサウナの複合施設である。地域の人々にとっての日常の場として、衣類だけでなく心身を洗い、再生を促す場になることをめざして設計した。何かを待つ時間がある。人との待ち合わせ、店の行列、電車やバスが来るまで。待つ時間は、せわしない日常の余白。その時間を大切に過ごすためのランドリーとサウナの場である。
Located on a quiet street corner near Utsubo Park in Osaka, this facility is a hybrid of a laundromat and sauna operated by a long-established cleaning company. Designed as a daily gathering space for the local community, it aims to provide a place not only to clean clothes but also to cleanse and rejuvenate the body and mind. It’s a space for moments of waiting -waiting for someone, standing in line, or anticipating the arrival of a train or bus. These waiting times, often overlooked in the rush of daily life, are treated here as moments to be cherished.

一階のクリーニングとランドリーのスペースは、大きな開口部を通して道に対してディスプレイされる。ランドリーのために訪れた人々は、中央に配置された有機的な形の衣服の畳み台を囲み、一定の距離や向きをとり、同じ場を共有していることを感じられるだろう。
The first floor, housing the cleaning and laundry area, is open to the street with large windows, inviting a visual connection with the surroundings. Visitors who come for laundry can gather around an organically shaped central folding table, subtly maintaining their distance and orientation while feeling a shared presence in the same space.
階段で二階に上がると、軒下のような木の格子天井がある靴脱ぎ場があり、展示もできる静かな場がある。ここで気持ちを切り替えて暖簾をくぐり、サウナエリアに入る。洗い場と休憩エリアは、深い松林をイメージするような、斑のある常磐色のタイルが貼られる。正八角形平面のサウナ室には中央にストーブを設置することで均等に熱を室内に行き渡らせながらも、高さの異なるベンチによって温度帯を選択できる。温度が低くなりがちな出入口側に小さなストーブを補助的に設置し、熱環境を調整している。水風呂の吐出口から生まれる波紋に照明を当て、天井に光を反射させることで、動きのある光が静かな洗い場の中でゆらぐ。
ここでのサウナ体験は、熱と光と音、そしてベンチの木材と柔らかなタオルの触覚、そしてアロマの香りがつくる調和の中で、五感を通じて深まっていく。ランドリーとサウナという二つの日常的な洗う行為を通じて、都市生活にリズムと均衡をもたらし、日々の生活から一度離れて自分自身と向き合うための、日常の余白となる場をつくろうとした。
The sauna experience here is designed to deepen through harmony among heat, light, and sound, combined with the tactile sensations of wooden benches, soft towels, and the aromas of essential oils. By integrating the two everyday acts of cleansing -laundry and sauna- the facility seeks to provide rhythm and balance to urban life, offering a space to momentarily step away from daily routines and reconnect with oneself. This is a space of respite and reflection within the rhythm of everyday life.
