東京・檜町公園に隣接する女性専用のスチームサウナ「SteaMs.」は、「トリートメントサウナ」をコンセプトにした健康と美容のためのサウナ施設である。
水風呂がないサウナ施設ではあるが、極端な温冷交代浴ではなく、女性が緩やかに身体を温めて健康になるための新しい形態のサウナ施設である。これを機に、スチームサウナがより一層一般的なものになり、女性だけでなくその価値が広く認識されていくことを願っている。
SteaMs., a women-only steam sauna located adjacent to Hinokicho Park in Tokyo, is a sauna facility designed for health and beauty with the concept of a “treatment sauna.”
Although the facility lacks a cold water bath, it offers an innovative sauna experience designed for women to gently warm their bodies, promoting health without the intense contrast of hot and cold baths. With the hope of making steam saunas more widely recognized and valued not just among women but in general, this facility aims to pave the way for a new paradigm in sauna culture.

銭湯やサウナは、オープンな空間を共有する施設が多いが、ここでは他人の目線を気にせずに体を洗い、サウナに入ることができるセミプライベートな計画とした。
「RETOX」と名付けられたサウナ室は、アーチの垂れ壁で仕切られた半個室の洗い場でもある。垂れ下がるアーチの壁がプライバシーを守り、アーチの開口がスチームを室の隅々にまで行きわたらせる。熱い蒸気の中で体を洗うという体験は、他の施設にはない特別なものである。
もう一つのサウナ室は、「TERRA」と名付けられたハーバルスチームサウナである。ハーブは時間帯や季節に合わせてブレンドし、植物療法のオーソリティーである梅屋香織氏が監修している。左官で磨かれた球体の下からスチームが上り、それが球体に当たることによって、円形平面の部屋に均等に蒸気が配分されるよう、空気と熱の流れを計画した。青い光が球体を照らし、洞窟のようなベンチに小さな火のような明かりがともる。
照度を落としたリラクセーションスペースには、巣のようにこもって休める半個室のエリアと、グループで向き合って休める場があり、場面に合わせて使い分けが可能である。
While many public baths and saunas are open and shared spaces, this facility adopts a semi-private design where guests can wash themselves and enjoy the sauna without worrying about others’ gazes.
The sauna room named “RETOX” also features semi-private washing areas, separated by arched partitions. The descending arches ensure privacy while their openings distribute steam evenly across the room. Washing oneself amid the steamy heat creates a unique experience unmatched by other facilities.
The other sauna room, called “TERRA,” is a herbal steam sauna. The herbal blends, curated by phytotherapy authority Kaori Umeya, change with the seasons and time of day. Steam rises from beneath a polished spherical structure, designed to distribute it evenly throughout the circular room by leveraging the interaction between heat and airflow. Blue light illuminates the sphere, while small, flame-like lights glow around the cave-like benches, enhancing the sensory experience.
The dimly lit relaxation area features semi-private pods for solitary rest, as well as spaces where groups can sit and relax together, offering versatility based on guests’ needs.
円やアーチの幾何学が持つ中心性と、自由曲線が持つ流動性。その二つの要素を採り入れ、全体を構成した。アーチは奥に広がる世界へのゲートとなり、それらをくぐることによって、より奥深くに潜っていくような体験を生む。場を仕切る扉は最小限とし、サウナ室、トイレ、貸切のスイートルーム以外はひとつながりのスペースになっている。
広くて明るいパウダールームでは、より自然光に近い演色性の高い照明下で肌を見ることができ、オーガンジーで柔らかくブースを仕切っている。
The overall structure incorporates the centrality of circles and arches in geometry along with the fluidity of freeform curves. Arches serve as gateways to a world that unfolds further within, offering an immersive experience as one passes through them. Doors that divide spaces are kept to a minimum, and apart from the sauna rooms, toilets, and private suite rooms, the facility comprises a single connected space.
The spacious and bright powder room, with high-color-rendering lighting that mimics natural light, allows users to view their skin clearly. The space is softly partitioned using organza, enhancing its serene atmosphere.
